D.R.CONGO 4FIELDS DISCIPLESHIP AND CHURCH MULTIPLICATION TRAINING

Reported by brother Paul.

Peace and grace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

I am thankful to reach the end of this month of April after labouring in the vineyard and this is what we have achieved.

Like Paul who was stopped by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia and had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him to come there to help them (Acts 16:6-10), I was also wondering sometimes where the Lord wants me to go, until I was led to take the gospel to Sake, since it has been a while I was hesitating to go there. Sake is a village in Masisi Territory in North Kivu Province in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The village is located 20 km west of Goma and 7 km north of Kirotshe on Lake Kivu. I travelled by minibus, and while I was walking the streets of this

small village, I was drawn to enter a house where I found a woman at the table eating, whose name was Mama Zawadi, who welcomed me but was not

available for a conversation and asked me to come back the next day. But the next time I came back, I couldn't find her house anymore, the roof and wooden walls had been blown away by a hurricane, and heavy rain had devastated the village. I found her and her children staying in the neighbour’s house, with no motivation to study. I gave her a little help, we prayed, and I left.

Sake is a small village where the urbanization service has not been well carried out. Due to the lack of streets in the neighbourhood, in many places, one passes between the plots in small paths that connect one house to another. As I was leaving Mama Zawadi's house, the inter-plot path led me past a field where two women were cultivating. I became interested in them, and they welcomed me into the field under a tree, where we talked for at least two

hours. During our conversation, I learned that they are friends, they love the Lord like Lydia, and one had come to help the other cultivate her field.

As we were busy talking, these two mothers told me that they stopped worshipping in their church because they were disappointed with their pastor,

whom they had caught in an affair with female believers in the church. They decided to stop their membership in this denomination and opened a mobile prayer room where they go from house to house to pray with believers... These two mothers are determined to be trained to improve their ministry. But during a group study, they seemed less honest about certain biblical facts about salvation. As we continue to study with them, we also pray for them. Buhoro has also expressed the need to pray for her Catholic husband who is an alcoholic.

It is not always wise to study with two women who claims to love the Lord in a small village like Sake and be the only man as teacher... I was called to

go to the opposite side of this same village where I passed several houses without speaking to anyone, until I see a man with a less ordinary and somewhat puny appearance who was coming out of the toilet. This man caught my attention and I stopped to talk to him. During our conversation, I discovered that his name was Kaseraka Kambale Jeta and he opened his father's house for me to enter. We have spoken enough with this gentleman, but I felt great distress in him, his appearance reflected hunger and extreme need. After giving him a little to eat, we set a study appointment. When I returned, Jeta had not kept the appointment, he had forgotten that we were supposed to meet. But when I arrived, I met an old man who welcomed me very well and was open to conversation. As soon as we began to discuss, I presented straight the gospel to him. While we were still discussing, his wife also arrived and they all heard the gospel message together. The old man was touched by the message and expressed his desire to be baptized. Since they were both born

and raised Catholics, his wife intervened directly, forbidding her husband from being baptized for the second time. It should be remembered that among

Catholics, the custom of pouring water on the head is called baptism. But after studying the Gospel, the meaning of the word baptism according to its

etymology, and the practice of biblical baptism, the 80-year-old man was completely convinced, had it not been for his wife’s interference, he would

have been baptized.

I came back another day to this same family, this time I met almost everyone in the family (old Kambale Léonard, his wife, his daughter Kahindo Kambale, his grandson Ramazani Shabani Félix, and his son Kasereka Kambale Jeta who had welcomed me for the very first time in this house. For hours, I presented the gospel again, we had a long discussion with this lovely family, after several

readings of the scriptures, I exhorted them to receive Christ in their home. The old couple resisted and still resists until today but we give glory to God because their children and their grandson obeyed the gospel: Kasera Kamabale Jeta , Kahindo Kambale, and Ramazani Shabani Félix were baptized on April 14 2025. We give glory to God.

The Great Commission recommends that we teach those who are baptized. So, we started with the 4 Fields in Sake, even though transportation is a bit

complicated with rebel’s roadblocks. While we were trying to get to know each other better, Brother Jeta revealed to us that he was a soldier in the Congolese national army, but he was arrested after a soldier under his command lost his weapon. Since he and his subordinate were unable to find the lost weapon, they were all imprisoned in Monzenze Central Prison, one of the most dangerous prisons in the world according to researchers. During 11 months of imprisonment without even appearing in court, Brother Jopa barely survived in this horrible prison, but his subordinate could not, he died. In this prison, there is almost no food; according to Jeta, each prisoner receives at most 15 cooked grains of corn daily. Those who resist a little are those whose family members visit and assist regularly... This story reminds me of the jailer who was converted with his family as soon as Paul and Silas left prison. Brother Jeta was also converted as soon as he left prison. He was free on January 25, 2025, on the eve of the capture of the city of Goma by the M23 rebels; all the prisons were opened, including Monzenze, so Jeta narrowly escaped without his subordinate but with many other inmates.

To finish with Sake, please pray for the old man Leonard so that he responds favourably to the message of the gospel. I would like you to know that old Leonard is called also a ghost. According to what my newly baptized brothers told me about him, several years before, he was mourned for days because he was already declared dead. Until now, no one understands how he came back to life. Barely returned to life, Leonard was treated for months at the hospital in Kiroche. Upon his release, he had lost all his memory and remained deaf and mute for several months. This event had some abnormal after-effects in this man; he hears with a slight delay and responds slightly late. But he is a good, welcoming man, he fears sin and the Lord like Cornelius. The only difference with Cornelius is that he obeyed the gospel directly and without hesitation. Also, please mention in your prayers our sister Kahindo who has had ringworm on her head for years that does not heal and her son, our

brother Félix Ramazani Shabani whose feet were swollen and treated but had not fully recovered…, the feet kept an abnormal and painful proportion

compared to other people's feet. This family believes that a bad spell was cast in their house because I found them each with a sick story to tell and

extreme need.

The Bible school is progressing well. After completing the Overview of the Old and New Testaments, we began an in-depth study of the Bible books and are currently working through the book of Genesis, which we will finish soon. Our various congregations meet regularly, worship on Sundays and have discovery Bible studies in the middle of the week. Our second joint worship service this year took place this April 27, 2025, in Katoi, at the house of Brother Charles. We say thank you to the Lord!

In Christ service Paul Lulacha.

Wow, great and encouraging Brother Paul. Amen and praise God for the wonderful work of the Lord, keep it up for Jesus . Thank You Lord and thank you all involved .
