KENYA GOSPEL CHARIOT MISSIONS IN COLLABORATION WITH WEST CHURCHES OF CHRIST FELLOWSHIP

Reported by Brother Tom.

On Sunday, July 6, 2025, the peaceful village of Reru came alive with the sound of praise, teaching, and fellowship as the Gospel Chariot Missions team joined hands with the Oyugis West Churches of Christ for their scheduled monthly gospel gathering. This unique event brought together ten congregations from the region, united by a common purpose—to sit at the feet of Christ, to learn, to be equipped, and to encourage one another in the work of the Kingdom.

The Reru Gathering is part of an ongoing mission initiative aimed at strengthening local churches through regular teaching and strategic collaboration. These gatherings provide much-needed space for collective worship, instruction, and vision sharing, particularly for the smaller and newer congregations navigating various challenges in their faith journey.

The focus of the July meeting was on some of the most pressing and foundational issues facing the churches in the region. These included church planting models, soul-winning strategies, training disciple makers, and leading young and struggling churches and house churches. These themes were thoughtfully selected in response to the reality on the ground—many congregations are still in their formative stages, and leaders are hungry for practical guidance on how to lead with biblical conviction and clarity.

The day was marked by powerful teaching and inspirational moments. Brother Kennedy Okoth delivered the sermon of the day, encouraging the brethren to remain steadfast and faithful to the Great Commission. His message emphasized that the work of church planting and evangelism is not just for a few, but for every believer empowered by the Spirit of God.

Lucas Oguta, sharing insights from Dirubi Church of Christ, led a session on disciple making. He highlighted the importance of multiplication through intentional training and mentoring of leaders, using the example of Dirubi’s growth through simple obedience to Jesus’ method of making disciples.

The sacred moment of partaking in the Lord’s Supper was led by Naaman Juma, who reminded the church of the unity and fellowship found in the body and blood of Christ. His meditation was a sobering and worshipful pause amid the day’s teachings.

The program was well coordinated under the moderation of Samson Omuga, whose leadership ensured that every segment of the gathering was smooth and edifying. His spiritual maturity and ability to guide the flow of activities was a blessing to all in attendance.

On matters of welfare and financial stewardship, John Owuor spoke candidly about the need for churches to care for one another and support their own growth through giving and collective responsibility. His session included a moment of fundraising to support struggling congregations and future missions.

The final session was led by Tom Opondo, who cast a compelling vision for the way forward. He called upon the churches not only to reflect on where they’ve come from, but to also embrace a greater mission ahead. His words stirred hope and determination in the hearts of the brethren as he unveiled two major plans for the coming month: a Youth Conference aimed at equipping the next generation of believers, and participation in the upcoming Global Christian Connexion Conference in August, where local churches will connect with the global body of Christ for mutual learning and encouragement.

Above all, the spirit of the Reru Gathering was one of gratitude and hope. Many testified of how God has been restoring families, strengthening faith, and transforming lives through the ongoing outreach and teaching efforts. What was once seen as dry ground is now yielding fruit, and the churches in Oyugis West are rising with renewed strength and a shared vision for mission and discipleship.

To God be the glory for the Reru Gospel Gathering—a day of renewal, connection, and mission alignment. Amen.

Great and exciting! Amen and praise God Brethren, keep it up for Jesus ! Thank You Lord and thank you all involved !
