WHY IS DISCIPLESHIP SCARY TO SOME?

This is because being a true disciple consists in absolute surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Savior is not looking for people who devote their free afternoons, their weekends, or their retirement years to Him.

Jesus is looking for people who are willing to give Him first place in their life.

He does not seek crowds that drift away and aimlessly in life.

He seeks men and women who consecrate themselves to His service and who voluntarily go down the path of denial that He modeled for us.

“A large number of people walked with Jesus.” Suddenly he turned and said to them, “If any of you wants to be my disciple, you must love me more than your father or mother, more than your wife or children, and more than your brothers or sisters.” You can't follow me unless you love me more than your own life. If you are not willing to die on a cross, and to do what I say, you cannot be my disciples. Therefore, think about it. If you want to be my disciples, you will have to forsake everything you have. ”
